And here’s how it works:
The first photo is selected by my closing my eyes and scrolling through the photos until I feeeeeeel like I might have found an interesting one.
1. Bon Fire at Glen Davis
Can you believe I helped light this fire myself!? That spectral figure in the background is me, dreaming of a macaroon.
The second photo is selected by my looking at the time, and then turning it into an integer. At this point I match that integer to a photo with the same integer in my iPhone. Clever, huh?
2. My father at Christmas
My father is an academic and all round scholarly sort, but at Christmas he really cuts loose and smiles coyly for the camera. See how we look alike around the eyes?
The third photo is selected by my calling my colleague Mia* and asking her to choose a three-digit number at random. Today our conversation went like this:
Mia: Hi Lucinda, what do you want?
Me: I was just wondering if you could tell me a three-digit number.
Mia: Do you have any specific three-digit number in mind?
Me: No. Just one that you think would be nice.
Mia: Okay … how about 214 … that seems like a nice one.
3. My friend Chloe next to some dudes leg
This photo features Chloe sitting on a piece of chipboard with wheels attached. Just in case you were wondering, the brand of tobacco she smokes is Champion Ruby.
So there you have it, even though I’m not playing shows at the moment, I have still managed to entertain you. Neat, huh? Keep your eyes peeled for next week’s installment of The Game Where I Randomly Select Three Photos From My iPhone And Post Them To My Blog.
*FYI Mia’s job in my company is to provide people with information about my company should they wish to call a hotline and ask her questions, so I feel like it’s only right I call her for my third photo.

Friends! The winter froze me in, alas, but now I’m thawed. Songs are slowly trickly out. Social media updates await. Shows are waiting to be played.
Here is one:
14th Jan @ Raval (Lvl One, Macquarie Hotel)
$12, 8pm, it’s in Surry Hills if you didn’t know.
I’m not going to make any promises about how often I intend to do this, but I want you to know that I miss you all very much.

I believe Chris already posted this on the New Neighbors blog. It happened in Belgrave. Also what happened was the shifty owner of the Italian restaurant there spilled white sauce on my jacket. Look, it probably wasn’t deliberate, but …

I do actually like Adelaide. It is quaint, and crisp, and has many streets named the same name. It isn’t rad though, and so Radelaide is probably a misnomer. All the same, the Wheatsheaf was grand. Mike from Aviator Lane was possibly the hostiest host I’ve ever encountered. And he gave us t-shirts.

The spurious nature of using airport codes to indicate which Australian cities I’ve visited by tour van has not escaped me. It’s been too long since I’ve updated this blog–let’s call it a hibernation. And now a game: cities in five words or less.

Brisbane – Twenty-five is not too old.

Newcastle – Old friends bring new dress.

Sydney – New friends make fake snow.

Canberra – Hotel bathroom sans smoke alarms.
Stay tuned for Melbourne and Adelaide updates, plus (maybe) a live mp3.
Melbourne is cold and confusing. Last night I slept on a hole in the floor covered by sagging carpet. Met new friends, Fern and Strawberry. I’m not sure whether it is better to pretend to be shocked by this or not. Shows coming up at Old Bar, Espy and Ruby’s Lounge. x Lu

“Juxtaposing New York (where Lucy lived in 2007) anti-folk with more traditional whimsical indie-pop, Lucy’s exemplary vocal range is the true star of the show, with both full-on Kate Miller-Heidke shrieks and delicate sighs used to glorious effect”
